Position Summary
Love helping people and keeping things running like clockwork? Join our team as an Administrative Medical Assistant, where you’ll support our healthcare team with both clinical and administrative tasks, making sure our patients get top-notch care from the moment they walk in. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service and keeping our office organized and efficient.
Who We Are
At Southern Michigan Pain Consultants (“SMPC”), we believe every day is an opportunity to make life better for our patients, our community, and each other. As a well-established, patient-focused pain care management team, we’re dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care that restores daily function and brings hope to those living with chronic pain. We approach pain as the serious, ongoing condition it is, just like any other chronic illness. And we do it together, rooted in collaboration and support. If you’re looking to make a real difference while working alongside a team that values compassion, teamwork, and growth, this is the place for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll be an important part of providing exceptional patient care while helping us keep things organized and efficient. You’ll:
Care for Our Patients
You’ll be the friendly, professional face supporting our healthcare team - ensuring patient safety, bolstering office efficiencies, gathering important health info, and staying calm under pressure when emergencies arise. You’ll work closely with nurses and providers to make every patient’s experience smooth and positive.
Be a Front Desk and Office Rockstar
As the first point of contact for our patients, you’ll be delivering top-notch service in person, by phone, or online. From managing the lobby and multi-line phones to handling filing, data entry, and office tech, you’ll keep things organized and running like clockwork.
Be an Integral Part of Our Team
You’ll navigate our Electronic Medical Records (“EMR”) system and other software with ease, ensure patient and records confidentiality, and join staff meetings and team activities, helping our office stay connected, secure, and efficient.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
We’re looking for someone with a high school diploma (or equivalent) and experience in a medical office, especially front desk duties such as check-in/out. CPR certification is required (or must be obtained within 120 days). Completion of a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant/Medical Secretary program is a big plus.
You’re comfortable with EMR software, Microsoft Office, and other basic office technologies. You have excellent communication and customer service skills. You stay calm under pressure, manage your time like a pro, and can handle multiple priorities with ease. You’re a team player who can also work independently.
Other Things You Should Know
At SMPC, we all share the same commitment to our mission, our patients, and each other. We believe in doing the right thing, treating people with respect, and leading by example every day.
Here’s what that means for our team members:
- Understand our mission. Take the time to learn who we are, what we do, and why it matters.
- Know your stuff. Stay informed about comprehensive pain management and the services we provide.
- Work as one team. Collaborate with respect, trust, and appreciation for each other’s differences.
- Stay involved. Take part in meetings and team activities that help us grow and stay connected.
- Follow through. Complete tasks on time and with care.
- Protect privacy. Maintain confidentiality in everything you do, in line with both the law and our policies.
- Do things the right way. Follow SMPC’s policies, procedures, and processes and help others do the same.
At the end of the day, we’re all here to make a difference. If you’re someone who takes initiative, leads with integrity, and believes in continuous growth, you’ll fit right in.
